Given Gulf Breeze's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 230th, while Pensacola Catholic is ranked 610th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hutson Rowe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tre Ennis, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Pine Forest suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Monday. They fell just short of Choctawhatchee by a score of 57-55.
Gulf Breeze's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. As for Pine Forest, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10.
Gulf Breeze beat Pine Forest 65-57 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pine Forest's Joshua Whitehurst, who scored 24 points along with two steals.
