The Calaveras Red Hawks won the last time they faced the Wheatland Pirates, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Calaveras strolled past Wheatland with points to spare, taking the game 48-29. The win made it back-to-back wins for Calaveras.
Calaveras was led to victory by Ryan Clifton and Luca Pasqualin. Clifton scored 13 points along with three steals, while Pasqualin scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Moser, who scored three points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Calaveras has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Wheatland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Calaveras and Bradshaw Christian will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bradshaw Christian is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Wheatland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Nevada Union at 1:30 p.m. on December 14th. Nevada Union presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wheatland in California (Nevada Union is ranked 361st, while Wheatland is ranked 1325th).
