Meanwhile, everything went Canyon Lake's way against Chaparral on Friday as Canyon Lake made off with an 11-1 victory.
Canyon Lake let Cheyenne Fields and Liza Schexneyder run wild. Fields scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Schexneyder scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Fields has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Rice, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Canyon Lake's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Llano, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Llano hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Canyon Lake struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Llano was able to grind out a solid victory over Canyon Lake in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 3-0. Will Llano repeat their success, or does Canyon Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
