South Adams has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Bluffton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, everything went South Adams' way against Leo as South Adams made off with a 62-42 victory.
Macy Pries was her usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Addie Baker was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Bluffton put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 75-49 margin over New Haven. The result was nothing new for Bluffton, who have now won four games by 24 points or more so far this season.
Bluffton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Stout, who scored 20 points along with 3 steals. Stout continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madyson Sonnigsen, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals.
The losses dropped South Adams to 2-4 and Leo to 4-3.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: South Adams have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bluffton struggles in that department as they've been even better at 33.6 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
South Adams took their win against Bluffton in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 44-23. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Adams since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
