The Southeast Cyclones had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 40-18 margin over HEM. The result was nothing new for Southeast, who have now won four contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Southeast found their leader in underclassman TJ Moats, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Moats' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kannon Tippets, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Southeast's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for HEM, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Southeast's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lingle-Fort Laramie at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. One thing working in Lingle-Fort Laramie's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups. HEM will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rock River at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th.
