The Crooms Academy Panthers won the last time they faced the Orlando Science Orcas, and things went their way on Monday too. Crooms Academy walked away with a 64-53 win over Orlando Science.
Crooms Academy found their leader in underclassman Jayden Aristile, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Aristile hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Tyrell Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
When it comes to explaining why Orlando Science lost, one person who can't be blamed is Glen Wickersham. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Wickersham scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Reyes, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds.
Crooms Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Orlando Science, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Crooms Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Elite Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Elite Prep Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.3 points per game. Orlando Science's road trip will continue as they head out to face Real Life Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Real Life Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
