East Rowan won against Mooresville last Wednesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The East Rowan Mustangs were the clear victor by a 13-6 margin over the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans. The Mustangs' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Harrison Ailshie was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Andrew Myrick looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Keaton Walker and Sam Blackwelder did most of the damage at the plate: Walker went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Blackwelder scored two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Walker has posted since back in April of 2024. Will Klingler was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases.
East Rowan pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will take on Central Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Rowan knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Central Cabarrus likes a good challenge. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will square off against Cox Mill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
