Hardin put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let the West Hardin Oilers get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by eight runs or more this season.
Hardin let Kolten Bishop and Lleyton Berry run wild. Bishop scored three runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Berry went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, Berry posted two hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Phelps, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Hardin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Hardin's victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Coming up, Hardin will be taking part in a tournament against Coldspring-Oakhurst at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Hardin will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kirbyville at 10:00 a.m. on March 7th.
