It was a good run, but the Discovery Canyon Thunder unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. The contest between Discovery Canyon and Palmer Ridge wasn't particularly close, with Discovery Canyon falling 47-30. Discovery Canyon has struggled against Palmer Ridge recently, as their game on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Discovery Canyon's loss came despite strong showings from Taylor Mccann and Natalie Neuhaus. Mccann scored six points along with five steals, while Neuhaus scored 12 points along with two steals. Mccann is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Leading Palmer Ridge to victory were Annaliese Bossinger and Kylie Mayer. Bossinger scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Mayer scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Delanie Mcmullen, who scored six points along with three steals.
Discovery Canyon now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Palmer Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Discovery Canyon will take on Air Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Palmer Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pueblo County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Pueblo County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Thursday.
