Everything went Zion-Benton's way against Round Lake on Tuesday as Zion-Benton made off with a 13-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Zee-Bees as it put an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Andrew Mitchell tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Zion-Benton let Ivan Jones and Jack Marabella run wild. Jones scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Marabella went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. The dominant performance gave Marabella a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Villarreal, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Zion-Benton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Round Lake only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Wheeling didn't have quite enough to beat Leyden on Tuesday and fell 3-1.
