They took their matchup at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 70-33 victory over The Academy. Winning may never get old, but Timnath sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Leading Timnath to victory were Tiana Guzman and Gretchen Deines. Guzman dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Deines scored 19 points along with three steals. The match was Guzman's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Ayslee Stone was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Timnath's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for The Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Timnath will be playing in front of their home fans against Rocky Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rocky Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Timnath in Colorado (Rocky Mountain is ranked 35th, while Timnath is ranked 109th). The Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Jefferson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
