Lone Peak had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Summit Academy Bears 18-0 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Gourley struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Colledge scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Gourley went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Gourley a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Maci Koch and Ruby Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Koch scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Nelson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Nelson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maggie Nelson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Lone Peak always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Summit Academy only posted an OBP of .154.
Looking ahead, Lone Peak will be taking part in a tournament against Union at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Summit Academy, they are taking a road trip to take on Judge Memorial Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on March 20th.
