Covenant Classical is 4-0 against the Mustangs since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Covenant Classical Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Fellowship Academy Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After soaring to 70 points the game before, Covenant Classical were a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were beaten by Lubbock Christian 68-25. While losing is never fun, Covenant Classical can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 988th, while the Eagles are ranked 380th).
Meanwhile, Fellowship Academy took a serious blow against the Eagles on Saturday, falling 87-26. Fellowship Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-18.
Despite the loss, Fellowship Academy got a solid performance out of William Hornbuckle, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Hornbuckle hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Covenant Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Fellowship Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-22.
Everything came up roses for Covenant Classical against the Mustangs in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 70-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Covenant Classical since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
