Basketball Recap: Lab University Prep National Takes a Loss

Lab University Prep National played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 75-42 loss at the hands of the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers. The Kings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.

Despite the defeat, Lab University Prep National had strong showings from Kali Dancy, who went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points, and Mia Minshall, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Dancy's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Legion Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than LaKiara Alexander, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 16 points along with five boards and three steals. Alexander is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiyana Murrell, who posted 11 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lab University Prep National and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Lab University Prep National wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-25 victory against Greater Cabarrus S on the 20th. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-49 win against Jackson Day on the 21st.
