Having just played yesterday, the Salpointe Catholic Lancers will jump right back in to play the Clovis West Golden Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Salpointe Catholic was the victim of a tough 82-58 defeat at the hands of John Paul II.
Despite the defeat, Salpointe Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Ben Aronson scored 12 points. Aronson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Martinez, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Clovis West is ranked highly in their home state, and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Valley Christian. Clovis West sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 67-64 victory over Valley Christian. The victory was some much needed relief for Clovis West as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Salpointe Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Clovis West, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
