Basketball Recap: Langtree Charter Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Langtree Charter Academy can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 55-47 win over the Pine Lake Prep Pride. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 49-8 victory the Pride walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Langtree Charter Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faithful Chambers, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Chambers a new career-high in blocks (three). Another player making a difference was Olivia Pogue, who posted 16 points and four steals.

Raegan Blickley and Lea Schwaba certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Blickley put up 17 points, while Schwaba earned 14 points.

Langtree Charter Academy's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-8. As for Pine Lake Prep, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Langtree Charter Academy will welcome Mountain Island Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Langtree Charter Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Pine Lake Prep has already played their next contest (against Corvian Community), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
