Basketball Recap: Manila Extends Winning Streak to Three

Manila hadn't done well against Little Snake River recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Manila Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-58 win over the Little Snake River Rattlers. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Manila got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kamryn Slaugh out in front who posted 23 points and three steals. Slaugh is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kallie Bair, who earned 17 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.

Manila smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Manila is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Little Snake River, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-4.

Manila didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-44 victory against Altamont on the 11th. As for Little Snake River, they will square off against Saratoga at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
