Hale Ray has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Ellington has won six straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Noises will host the Knights at 1:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Hale Ray got the win against Middletown by a conclusive 9-1.
Lily Jahne made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
In other batting news, Hale Ray let Maggie Janecek and Faith Kalisz run wild. Janecek went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Kalisz went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Ellington put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's fifth consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand RHAM a 16-0 shutout.
Ellington got a massive performance out of Madison Havener, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most runs Havener has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyla Gambacorta, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Ellington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as RHAM only posted an OBP of .167.
Ellington's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Hale Ray, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hale Ray has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Ellington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
