Basketball Recap: Lyllee Schnell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Tell City

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Northeast Dubois ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Tell City Marksmen 53-51. The Jeeps have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Marksmen, too.

Northeast Dubois' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyllee Schnell, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 17 points along with seven boards and six blocks. Schnell has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmersen Kalb, who went 7 of 12 en route to 16 points.

Tell City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Reese Ford, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 18 points. Ford is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ollie Toothman, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points and three steals.

Northeast Dubois is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Tell City, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
