Having just played yesterday, the Gatewood Gators will head out on the road to face off against the Westminster Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Gatewood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Gatewood gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They breezed by Augusta Prep Day on the road to the tune of 50-15. The win was just what Gatewood needed coming off of a 62-42 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Westminster Christian Academy suffered a rough 67-41 loss at the hands of the War Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, Westminster Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 401st, while the War Eagles are ranked 84th).
Gatewood's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-12. As for Westminster Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Gatewood didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Lions when the teams last played on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 36-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gatewood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
