The Atholton Raiders had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They secured a 54-48 W over Centennial. That's another feather in the cap for Atholton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Atholton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camden Thibeault, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Deion Dent was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Atholton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atholton will challenge Reservoir at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reservoir will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Atholton is ranked 69th). As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to take on Mt. Hebron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
