Carroll and the Panthers are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. Carroll relied on the efforts of Jersey Paul, who scored 22 points, and Lily George, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. Jaidyn Fuller was another key contributor, scoring a point along with six assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Snider stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 66-39 victory over DeKalb. Winning may never get old, but Fort Wayne Snider sure is getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Fort Wayne Snider's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Johnea Donahue, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Donahue posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Poole, who scored 16 points along with five assists.
Carroll is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season. As for Fort Wayne Snider, their victory bumped their record up to 21-2.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Carroll have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Snider struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.7 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Carroll ended up a good deal behind the Panthers in their previous meeting last Friday, losing 59-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Donahue, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
