Brenham and Montgomery are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2021, but not for long. The Cubs will be playing at home against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Brenham barely beat Iola the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cubs put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win on Friday.
While Brenham won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-15.

Brenham can attribute much of their success to Logan Hayslip, who had 12 digs and three aces, and Brinley Benson, who had five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Hayslip has posted over her last six matches. Kylie Baker also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
They weren't the only good servers: Brenham was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They are 15-3 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, Montgomery waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cougars.
Montgomery not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept College Station between 17 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-17.
Brenham's victory bumped their record up to 23-16. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 33-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Brenham has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Montgomery struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Brenham might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Montgomery in their previous meeting back in September. Will the Cubs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other volleyball content.
