Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, a fact Patterson Mill proved on Thursday. They walked away with a 47-40 win over Havre de Grace. That's another feather in the cap for Patterson Mill, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kiley Wilhelm was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Rylie Madsen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Havre de Grace lost, one person who can't be blamed is Azareya Whiting. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Whiting is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanai Knox, who scored six points along with two steals.
Patterson Mill is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Havre de Grace, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Aberdeen the next time they take the court. Patterson Mill will head out to face Aberdeen at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, while Havre de Grace will head out to face them at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
