Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Charlotte Catholic Cougars walked away with it. They strolled past Myers Park with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-24. 42 seems to be a good number for Charlotte Catholic as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charlotte Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Charlie Smith, who threw for 245 yards and two touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. Hugh O'brien also helped out with an impressive 97 receiving yards.
Charlotte Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Myers Park, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Charlotte Catholic will head out on the road to face off against T.C. Roberson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Myers Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
