Wake Forest and Wakefield are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2023, but likely not for long. The Cougars will host the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wake Forest will be strutting in after a win while Wakefield will be coming in after a defeat.
It was a proper cat-fight when Wake Forest took on Millbrook on Wednesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 24-9 margin over the Wildcats. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Ava Jones tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Wake Forest got a massive performance out of Abby Stogran, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Campbell, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Wake Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .627. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millbrook only posted an OBP of .471.
Meanwhile, Wakefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Enloe.
Maddy Lampman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Tatum Wright, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Wake Forest now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Wakefield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wake Forest hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. It's a different story for Wakefield, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Wake Forest's hitters?
Wake Forest came out on top in a nail-biter against Wakefield in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolverines turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
