The Climax-Scotts Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Mendon Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Climax-Scotts is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Two weeks ago, Climax-Scotts came up short against Bellevue and fell 49-40. While losing is never fun, Climax-Scotts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th, while Bellevue is ranked 231st).
Meanwhile, Mendon scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past Howardsville Christian with points to spare, taking the game 69-51.
Mendon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryder Gorham out in front who scored 25 points along with five assists and four steals. Gorham continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Owen Gorham was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Climax-Scotts has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Mendon, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
