Davies Career & Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Thanks to that big game, Barros is now up to 14 passing touchdowns on the season. Edgar Melendez was Barros' top target, picking up 147 receiving yards and three scores.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scituate). They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 35-6 win over Juanita Sanchez Complex. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Spartans with their most commanding win of the season.
Scituate's win came from a few key players Davies Career & Tech will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Drake Dumont, who rushed for 59 yards and a pair of TDs, and also picked up 45 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made six total tackles (1.0 for loss). Another signal caller making a difference was Aiden Grover, who threw for 229 yards and three TDs on perfect 7-for-7 passing.
Scituate's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Dominic Tosoni refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself.
The victory got Davies Career & Tech back to even at 2-2. As for Scituate, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
