De Leon is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will host the Graford Rabbits at 5:00 p.m. De Leon is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
It was a proper cat-fight when De Leon faced off against Glen Rose on Tuesday. The Bearcats came up short against the Tigers, falling 15-1.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Graford). They never let Harrold get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Trinity Leach made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Leach was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Faith Perry, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Paisleigh Dunnam, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Graford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
De Leon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Graford, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
De Leon got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Graford by a conclusive 15-6 score. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rabbits turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
