The MacArthur Cardinals were the 47-36 winner over the Irving Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. MacArthur took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Irving on Friday. MacArthur has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Taliah Martin, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 12 rebounds for Irving. The game was Martin's ninth in a row with at least ten points.
MacArthur's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-9. As for Irving, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
MacArthur will be home for the holidays to greet Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than MacArthur in Texas (Highland Park is ranked 147th, while MacArthur is ranked 1125th). As for Irving, they will head out on the road to face off against Berkner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkner and Irving are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
