Mountain Crest (Hyrum, Utah) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it ran for a touchdown with with under a minute left in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Sky View (Smithfield, Utah) 44-24.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the second quarter, the Mustangs led 22-17 at the half.
Mountain Crest expanded its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. MC scored three times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
The Bobcats'
Brandon Moore was the standout player for his team. He ran for three touchdowns and kicked one field goal.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Hyrum school came away with a 21-14 victory.
The loss was the third in a row for Sky View.
Mountain Crest (3-2) goes up against Bonneville in a 4A Region 5 game matchup next week, while Sky View (2-3) locks horns with Box Elder also in a 4A Region 5 game.
