On Thursday, Andrews earned a 56-46 win over Madison. Given Andrews' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Madison is ranked 520th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cameron Rattler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Andrews' points. Another player making a difference was Ty Clark, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Madison's loss came despite strong showings from Jason Eighmey and Chance Penland. Eighmey scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, while Penland scored eight points. Penland also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Gault, who scored eight points.
Andrews pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
