After each having a week off, the Bristol Eastern Lancers and the Middletown Blue Dragons will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bristol Eastern has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while Middletown will arrive with four straight  victories.
Bristol Eastern is headed into the  contest out to prove that what happened against Farmington  last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lancers lost  30-6 to the River Hawks.
 Bristol Eastern's  loss shouldn't obscure the performances of  Lincoln Bashaw, who rushed for 136 yards, and  Jacob Kingsley, who picked up 32 receiving yards and one  touchdown.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Middletown and Newington meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  last Friday. The Blue Dragons came out on top against the Nor'easters by a score of  20-12. While the Blue Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-7), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Bristol Eastern better keep an eye on  Sebastiano Bibisi. He was instrumental in Middletown's win, picking up 97 receiving yards and one  TD. Bibisi's longest reception was for an incredible 93 yards.
 Middletown's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bristol Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Everything went Bristol Eastern's way against Middletown in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024, as Bristol Eastern made off with  a  20-0 victory.
