It was a proper cat-fight when Morgan County duked it out with Breathitt County on Thursday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bobcats, sneaking past 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Bobcats last Friday, they had to take a 8-3 defeat.

Grayson Hampton was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Isaac Campbell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Morgan County now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Breathitt County, they moved to 17-12 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Coming up, Morgan County will square off against Wolfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Breathitt County, they will challenge Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
