The Midway Falcons will be playing at home against the Forestburg Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Midway: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Forestburg has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road.
Two weeks ago, Midway came up short against Slidell and fell 49-40.
Even though Forestburg has not done well against Slidell recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Forestburg walked away with a 49-38 win over Slidell. That's two games straight that Forestburg has won by exactly 11 points.
Forestburg found their leader in underclassman Brenna Briles, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Briles hasn't dropped below two steals for 17 straight games. Braylee Briles was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Midway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Forestburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.
Midway was taken down by Forestburg 59-26 when the teams last played on January 2nd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Briles, who scored 33 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
