The Pike Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 76-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamilton Southeastern. Pike has not had much luck with Hamilton Southeastern recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Hamilton Southeastern found their leader in underclassman Kennedy Holman, who scored 21 points along with nine assists and five rebounds. Holman has been hot recently, having posted eight or more assists the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maya Makalusky, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Pike has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 19-3.
Pike will head out on the road to face off against Lawrence North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lawrence North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they will square off against Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Hamilton Southeastern is ranked third).
