Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Plainview's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Plainview won against Ardmore last Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers an 11-0 shutout. Considering the Indians have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brylan Anderson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Plainview's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-2 (and 3-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Henry Harlow, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Plainview is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Ardmore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plainview will head out to square off against Lone Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ardmore, they will venture away from home to face off against Capitol Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
