Basketball Recap: Nicholas Richard and Elijah Mendoza Secure Win for Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wheatley, Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They managed a 57-51 win over the Legacy School of Sport Sciences Titans. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Titans are ranked 83rd).

Leading Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy to victory were Elijah Mendoza and Nicholas Richard. Mendoza almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Richard went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and three blocks. Isaiah Egland was another key player, putting up eight points.

Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4. As for Legacy School of Sport Sciences, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-6 record this season.

Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Spring Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Legacy School of Sport Sciences, they will also get right back to it: they'll take on Riverdale Baptist at 7:40 p.m. on Friday.
