Basketball Recap: Peninsula Skates Past Mount Tahoma with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peninsula). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Mount Tahoma T-Birds 61-12. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 38-4.

Peninsula was led to victory by Beverly Dover and Emi HansonSmith. Dover went 8-for-19 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds, while HansonSmith dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. HansonSmith is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Ali Jacobson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Peninsula was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Peninsula pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points on average over those games. As for Mount Tahoma, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Peninsula wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-30 loss against West Seattle on the 13th. As for Mount Tahoma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-17 defeat against Silas on the 13th.
