The Tell City Marksmen suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against South Spencer, falling 57-21. Tell City has struggled against South Spencer recently, as their match on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Tell City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emme Hoesli. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with two steals.
South Spencer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Molly Schulte out in front who dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 12 rebounds, and ten assists. Schulte is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Kendalyn Shourds was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Tell City has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for South Spencer, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing North Posey the next time they take the court. Tell City will host North Posey at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while South Spencer will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
