The Salado Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Lampasas Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Salado has 11 straight victories, Lampasas has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Salado narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Temple 5-4.

Owen Gunter looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.
At the plate, Salado saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Waters, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Brayden Naegele was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lampasas and Stephenville, and Stephenville kept the tradition alive. The Badgers came up short against the Yellowjackets on Saturday, falling 16-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Badgers have suffered since February 27th.
Salado's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Lampasas, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-8-4.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Salado has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. However, it's not like Lampasas struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Salado was able to grind out a solid win over Lampasas in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 4-1. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Badgers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
