The Del City Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Guymon Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Del City has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Del City was handed a 19-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Little Axe, sneaking past 13-11. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

04/14/25 @ Western Heights | 4 |
04/11/25 vs Putnam City North | 3 |
04/08/25 vs Marshall | 3 |
03/06/25 vs Capitol Hill | 3 |
Kale Standifer was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those five hits gave him a new career-high. Josh Hardeman also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Del City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in five consecutive games.
15 must be Guymon's lucky number: they beat Marshall with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Bears 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Andres Ozaeta made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Guymon is 4-2 when Ozaeta posts two or more runs, but 4-13 otherwise.
In other batting news, Guymon got a massive performance out of Isaac Sandoval, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Angelo Carrasco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Del City's record is now 3-23. As for Guymon, their record now sits at 8-15.
Everything went Del City's way against Guymon in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Del City made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
