The Douglass Bulldogs were the 55-8 winner over the Lyons Lions when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Douglass fell 33-20 to Lyons on Thursday. Douglass was down 27-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Lyons was led to victory by Deacon Showalter and Ethan Luck. Showalter rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Luck gained 125 total yards and four touchdowns. Showalter was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lyons, their win ended a 17-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-8.
Douglass does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lyons is also done with their season.
