Basketball Recap: Margaret Blythe Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Daniel Boone

On Friday, the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers earned a 71-62 win over the Daniel Boone Trailblazers.

Charlotte Country Day School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Margaret Blythe, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points in addition to six steals and five boards. That's the most steals Blythe has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Olive Bigham, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Charlotte Country Day School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.

Charlotte Country Day School's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Daniel Boone, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Charlotte Country Day School and Richmond will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richmond will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Charlotte Country Day School surely won't give up without a fight. As for Daniel Boone, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-49 loss against Providence Day on the 21st.
