Saint Andrew's usually-dominant defense will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Westminster Academy offense got past them. Saint Andrew's took a 58-40 bruising from Westminster Academy on Monday. The Scots have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Gabby Fulton, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Emma Smith, who earned nine points.
Meanwhile, West Boca Raton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against NSU University, falling 60-39. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Sharks are ranked 138th).
Like West Boca Raton, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Sophia Krefsky led the charge by going 8 of 14 en route to 16 points. That was a full 41% of West Boca Raton's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jules Etue, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.
Even though they lost, West Boca Raton was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Saint Andrew's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for West Boca Raton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Saint Andrew's has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 27.8 boards per game. However, it's not like West Boca Raton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
