The Alamosa Mean Moose suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Centauri by a score of 38-36. Alamosa has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Centauri's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylie McCarroll led the charge by scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and three steals. McCarroll continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Hannah Curtis was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Alamosa's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Centauri, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alamosa the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bayfield at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Bayfield comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Centauri, they will be playing at home against Ignacio at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
