Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-28, which was the final score in St. Mary's tilt against Christian Heritage on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points St. Mary's has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was John Brogan, who scored eight points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Evan Hodge, who scored nine points.
St. Boniface Catholic Classical dropped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.3 points per game. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
St. Boniface Catholic Classical was dealt a bruising 73-24 defeat at the hands of St. Mary's in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point St. Boniface Catholic Classical was down 43-15.
