The Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats will head out on the road to challenge the Louise Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Louise took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bloomington, who comes in off a win.
Even though Bloomington has not done well against the Shorthorns recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Bloomington took down the Shorthorns 44-29. Given Bloomington's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 686th, while the Shorthorns are ranked 1423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Louise's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Weimar 66-30.
Bloomington has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. As for Louise, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.
Bloomington strolled past the Hornets in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 53-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bloomington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
