The Franklin Lions will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Malakoff Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on December 14th. Franklin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Malakoff likes a good challenge.
Franklin extended their postseason success on Thursday against Edna. They breezed by the Cowboys on the road to the tune of 52-14. The result was nothing new for Franklin, who have now won ten games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Malakoff put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 38-31 victory over Brock. Malakoff's victory was all the more impressive since Brock was averaging only 13.47 points allowed on the season.
Mike Jones was his usual excellent self, rushing for 84 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 96 yards and a touchdown. Jones was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards.
Franklin pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Malakoff, their win bumped their record up to 15-0.
