After a string of six wins, the Loyalton Grizzlies's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a hard 51-35 fall against Chester. Loyalton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chester apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Gus Petterson and Aidan Shelby certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Petterson scored 15 points along with three steals, while Shelby scored five points along with 11 blocks and six rebounds. Shelby is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season.
Loyalton's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7. As for Chester, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Loyalton will take on Herlong at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Herlong comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Chester, they will be playing at home against Portola at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Portola focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
